Did you know that the risk of suicide is up to 4 times greater among cancer patients? A study of suicide among cancer patients shows that cancers with poorer prognosis tend to have higher rates of suicide. Mesothelioma, a cancer caused by exposure to asbestos, kills 2,000-3,000 people every year.

A diagnosis of mesothelioma increases a person’s suicide risk by approximately 450 percent. It’s important for friends and family of sick loved ones to know and recognize the warnings signs of suicide, so together, we can help prevent these deaths.
